Parking:
Metered parking a few yards away

Service:
Efficient and friendly counter service
Presentation:
Food always nicely presented, with the freshest ingredients. A truly
eclectic menu with everything from muffins and rolls from the cabinet
to stellar seafood pasta, the best soups in South Canterbury and
a damn good Thai chicken curry from time to time. Try what’s on
the specials board
Wine List:
Appropriate – but we didn’t try it as we were just there for lunch
Value for
Money:
Excellent, and decent-sized servings
if you’re feeding teenagers, as we were this visit
Ambience:
Cruisy, funky and a little
retro – some of the original railway café signs, and even
the 1960s wood-grain formica remaining on some of the walls. Loved
the original booths, recovered in orange vinyl.
The feel
good factor:
This is a weekend favourite
of ours when we’re down this end of Canterbury. The food is always
fantastic and you do get to meet an interesting bunch of diners!

In our opinion
the best
