Service:
This is a very exclusive B&B with very fine dinning. This house was built in the late 1889 and maintains it's old character . The dinning room is straight out Edwardian England. It is just a pleasure to be in the dinning room sipping port in front of the open fire. Service EXCELLENT. Mara' de Dominik Reister runs and excellent restaurant
Presentation:
Again all I can say is excellent . I think I tried most dishes for the 5 days we stayed at the Huntley . The menu is NOT hugh but what they do is A1 . There Pumpkin and coconut soup with scallops was excellent with a hint of curry ( well maybe a bit more than a hint ) . The beef fillet with truffle mushrooms is brilliant . Must have been aged for a month or two. Chef Garth Evans did a brilliant job with the sauces.
Wine List:
It was not huge but very adequate, nice to see a few Australian reds. However they do have some very rare whisky's on their top shelf.
Value for Money:
If you’re planning a mid city business lunch this is the place to go. VERY comfortable seating to boot. Evening dinning even better, I suggest you try this restaurant. Prices were very much inline with most good restaurants in Christchurch . Overall I would say it was good value.
Ambience:
Straight out of " Upstairs Downstairs " You want a great evening ? this is the place to go .
The feel good
factor:
It was better than just OK, I enjoyed it immensely . Yep I give it a top rating ' just that simple.
