Very good and very knowledgeable regarding the food and the extensive wine
list Presentation:
Outstanding layout for an Italian restaurant - two distinct dining
areas make the place seem huge but not imposing or intimidating,
linen tablecloths and quality of tableware make you feel rather
important
Wine
List: Absolutely one of the largest most comprehensive
lists I have ever seen, they stock an incredible range of wines. Its worth going
to for the wines alone Value
for Money:
Not cheap
. But I have seen
much less offered for much greater dining cost. Three of us ate
starters, mains, desserts, two bottles of wine and some plus coffees
we came out paying $357.00. Keep in mind that the drink bill was
over $140.00, so all in all fairly good value as the quality of
the food was way up there and by no means short on quantity or quality.
We had a good cross section of the menu, Bugs, Veal, Whitebait,
and lots of seafood. The only part of the meal I felt did not live
up the rest of what we ate were the desserts and coffee. The crepe
was very floury and the coffee was not up to par.
Ambience:
Fairly typical large style
restaurant feel but better than most as we sat in semi open area.
After a few glasses of red wine it was very relaxing, we ate there
on Monday for lunch so the place was understandably quite which
was great. I dont know how that would change on a say busy
Saturday night.
The
feel good factor: We
all left feeling very full and very happy with all aspects of this restaurant,
my guests that day were both very experienced in the restaurant trade and we treated
the day as a day out which it was. Thank you to the chefs and staff on the day
