Date/Time:
Mon 5th Feb 2007, 7.30pm
|
Restaurant:
Up One Restaurant
|
|
Booking:
Certainly not necessary in the week, but always a good idea
to ring ahead at weekends. 9915 2500

Where
to Find:
Saville on Russell, 222 Russell Street, Melbourne
|
|
Parking:
On
the street, or in the parking building below the restaurant.
Note this is separately owned
|
Service:
Efficient. It would be helpful if, when clearing away plates from
doddery twits like my sister, the server announced that he was just
going to take the plate ... that way people don't end up getting
a fright, flinging up their hands, and getting their cutlery bouncing
into their laps and onto the floor. (Maybe I'm overly critical.)
To be fair the family members who had stayed there for a week remarked
on how well the young man had looked after them both and how pleasant
he was.
Presentation:
Food reasonable, and staff tidy and well-groomed
Wine List:
Reasonable. Staff need to be able to be more helpful with choices.
Value for
Money:
Average
Ambience:
Relaxed. Your usual modern
hotel dining room really.
The feel
good factor:
Nothing we actually objected
to, just bland and standard. The star dishes for the five of us
were the camembert-stuffed chicken breast and the beautifully tender
chargrilled pork fillet with apple jus. If you're staying there
it's an easy option to mosey downstairs for a decent meal.
