303-305 Stafford St., Timaru

Service:
Personal, knowledgeable and friendly, generally by the owner or
a family member
Presentation:
Unusually good for such reasonable prices – beautiful carved vegetable
flowers and leaves garnish the platters. We particularly enjoyed
the perfectly-presented, delicate pad thai hor khai, wrapped in
the thinnest imagineable silky egg which was peeled back into a
flower shape with the prawns peeping out the top. The pork with
chilli, garlic and lemon sauce was a taste revelation.
Wine List:
Appropriate – but we prefer a Singha beer with Thai food so didn’t
indulge
Value for
Money:
Very good indeed
Ambience:
The décor is understated,
beautiful, warm and chic. The place has a calm and relaxed feeling
and is, quite simply, a lovely spot to spend an evening eating brilliant
food.
The feel
good factor:
Most Australasian Thai restaurants
I’ve visited could learn a lot from Sukhothai. It’s a real “find”
and well worth a visit.

In our opinion
the best
