About The Hotel and Restaurant
This is 5 star dinning in a 5 star hotel, The food is mainly Cantonese with elements of Huaiyang cold dishes and an influence of Sichuan and Chiu Chow cuisine. Shang Palace features eight private dinning rooms

Service:
We had 3 dedicated waitress serving 3 people . So I guess you would have to say it was excellent, what else could you say . It was great

Presentation:
It was soo good it's hard to know where to start. Shirley Zheng ( director of Communications ) was our host. I was prepared for the normal 5 to 6 course event but I lost count after 7 or 8 courses were presented. All the courses were subtle and blended with each other in taste and texture , subtle but different.

Some of the highlights were their pumpkin and scallop soup , the stir fried WAGYU beef with lily bulbs and X. O sauce, duck with bamboo shoots mushroom and celery not over powering but again very subtle. I was having a party in my mouth

Some of the signature delicacies included Crispy Pork Flamed with Chinese Rose Wine, Sliced roasted duck with Mango and cumber wrapped in pancake. Wuxi-style braised Pork rib served with crispy buns. BOTTOM LINE ! JUST SURPERB

Wine List:
I would just say Reasonable and extensive

Value for Money:
We are in Chinese 5 star restaurant for 2 people it did not come to any more than $55.00. What more do you want . I would have to say it is the best value for money dinning I have ever experienced .

Ambience:
Main dining area reflects an authentic Chinese restaurant . The atmosphere is lively , but not chaotic and very elegant . For business meeting and lunches the restaurant features private dinning with a trap door that enables food to be passed into each of the rooms to a stationed server without having to open the entrance door , resulting in minimum disturbance and maximum privacy.

The feel good factor:
Can not compare it with anything better. This restaurant is due for a "WineDine Award " on my next trip back. A very rare 5 +

+
(The very best )
