Service:
Very good. For lunch you can simply walk in and usually find a table
without much of a problem. If you are having the all-you-can-eat
evening meal, you must call for a reservation. The staff is extremely
friendly and helpful. If you have any questions about the food you
are ordering, they will be more than happy to explain it to you.
Over all we found the service to be very good.
Presentation:
The presentation is simple, although the box lunch is quite unique.
For regular meals and the all-you-can-eat dinners, the service is
simple Oriental plating.
HOWEVER, the box lunch is something to experience with over 15 items
included in this simple meal served in the traditional Japanese
box. This is the type of luncheon meal you would find in Japan on
a daily basis. There are three choices of main course in the box
lunch - beef, eel, or tofu. Around these items you will find salad,
sashimi, dim sum, rice, cold noodle soup, miso soup, and much more.
The truly unique fact is that we have had the box lunch on numerous
occasions and each one has been slightly different with the food
offerings. We have never had the same accompaniments twice.
Sagano also offers a full range of sushi and items can be served
for take away
Wine List:
Sagano's is fully licensed and BYO with a Corkage of $2.50. They
stock three white and three red wines, nothing note worthy, as well
as beer and sake.
Value for
Money:
My rating of 3 glasses is for the value you receive. Sushi is $1
per piece; the box lunch for two with tea and drink was under $30.
The evening meals and all-you-can-eat prices were under $20 per
person
Ambiance:
It is a little dark and dreary inside the restaurant and outside
is very noisy with the traffic of Bundle/Ferry Road
The feel
good factor:
This is a fun place to eat because the service is very good, the
food is very good and it is just plain fun to have a meal where
you can cook at the table and share the experience with your friend,
family or significant other.

Worth a trip back
