Service:
We were greeted with a big smile and no waiting time whatsoever.
Our waitress, Natasha, was very knowledgable and friendly right
to the end and the recommendations always on target. The owner,
Gianni, ensures that the quality of the service is maintained at
all times.
Presentation:
This time around we went for the whole 3 course. As an entrees I
chose the Avocado Seafood (Baked avocado stuffed with prawn's and
baby clams, decorated with oysters and grilled cheese. This dish
really excelled and I would highly recommend it if you're an entrees
person. For the main course I chose the Fettucini Marinara also
with baby clams and prawns (my favourite) and my partner the Tuscany
Style Sea Pearch baked in cream sause, topped with mushrooms, vegetables
and grilled cheese. I can only describe this as absolutely beautiful.
For dessert I had the Sticky Date pudding and my partner had Baci
(gelato) The overall presentation was excellent.
Wine List:
Enough to suit most tastes. There were a few wines missing (our
first choice were Annies's Lane which was not in stock) but Natasha
suggested the Tyrrell's Cabernet Merlot ($29.50) She was confident
enough to recommend a wine even better for the same price. She got
it right.
Value for
Money:
For the food and location the prices are quite reasonable. The wine
list runs from the cheaper end to the more expensive. Any flaws
are forgivable in a place that's so full of promise and energy.
Overall very good value for money
Ambience:
Set on the waterfront at Sanctuary Cove, the restaurant is furnished
in a lively Mediterannean theme and colour scheme, with large murals
and hanging vines. A latin guitarist compliments the overall ambience
The feel
good factor:
What can I say, good food, good wine, great service ......this one
wants you to go back again and again......and I most definately
will! I have to give this a 4 1/2. Whether it be a romantic dinner
for 2 or a family affair, I cannot recommend Marinara's more highly.

In our opinion
the best
