Service:
I walked into the bar area
and was met a very pleasant waitress. My colleague arriving late
gave me time to consult wine list and menu. The menu used fun African
titles for the courses which were quite extensive. We asked what
was the chef's signature dish and was advised that the venison was.
We ordered the delicious Zanzibar Seafood Chowder and Lake Victoria
Fungi (stuffed mushrooms) for entree. Main course we ordered Kalahari
Chicken Breast (stuffed chicken breast), which was very generous
in size and tasty and Springbok Venison which my colleague raved
about because it was unusual for venison, so tender. The vegetables
were fresh and crunchy.
Wine List:
Good, tending towards African
wine (Nederburg) theme
Value for
Money:
Again NZ prices
are dearer than Australian restaurants by and large. But by NZ standards
good value.
Ambience:
As previously stated the place
is an African theme. There are little corner tables for couples
and in other areas tables for groups. In the summer time there is
a garden area.
The feel
good factor:
We'll be back again!
