Service:
The service was very good, our waitress Paula was from Argentina with a delightful accent. For a urban restaurant setting the service was prompt and very good. Not 100% professional as you might find in a top city restaurant but the banter was excellent.
Wine List:
Not huge and reasonably over priced. The house wine were in the $15.00 range. I tried the Fiddlers's Green Pinot Noir 2006, it had won a few prizes and at $60.00 / bottle it was not that good. My suggestion is stay with the house wines they are much better value, I think the wine list could be worked on just a tad more.
Presentation
The food quality was EXCELLENT. The entree of seared scallops, prawns ( a bit small even for N. Z ) mussels and smoked salmon was brilliant not over cooked and there by preserving that natural sea food flavour. My main course was a blue beef fillet wrapped in prosciutto sweet potato rosti in a Pinot Noir jus. I was VERY surprised to see that they knew how to prepare a blue steak (most Australian Restaurants are terrible at doing this).
Value for
Money:
The entree was $21.00 for 2 people. I think the main course was $28.00. If you exclude the expensive wine it was VERY good value for money. The food was excellent. My dining partner ( a member of the gourmet crew ) passed the comment "not half bad" as he consumed a chicken breast wrapped in bacon, scallops and prawns. That sealed it for me. This was a TOP suburban restaurant. Value for money excellent!
Ambience:
Very clean tidy, trying for an art deco` look. Not a big restaurant but I would have NO problem spending the night here wining and dining in front of the fire place till the wee hours.
The feel
good factor:
In short a must visit again restaurant. (in fact I did). I would have to be the most critical of the winedine reviewers and I have to give it a 4+ rating
