Service:
I arrived early so there was no pressure on staff. Husband and wife
both take a hands on approach
Presentation:
Excellent. As an entree I tried the Portabello Mushrooms a tad too
much salt for my liking , however the Blue cheese cream sauce was
nothing short of excellent. Topped with a pecorino salad, just brilliant.
Main course was a Crispy Pork Belly and for a once a chef new how
to cook crackling without breaking a tooth when you bit into it,
again excellent. The accompanying wine reduction sauce was excellent.
I was nearly tempted never to order another filet steak again. IT
WAS THAT GOOD
Wine List:
Quite comprehensive, although I would like to see a large selections
of wine by the glass. I tried the Goundrey Cab Merlot at $7.50 not
bad at all, served at room temperature and left breathing for a
few hours. It is these little touches that make the difference between
a good dining experience and an excellent one. Well done
Value for
Money:
Again this is a Gold Coast on the main
drag restaurant. There prices are about right and not too over the
top. Main course and entree put me back $44.00 add a few glass's
of wine and you are looking at about $55 to $60 per person. Did
I consider it good value ! Compared to the rest on the coast YES.
Ambience:
Mediterranean outdoor alfresco
undercover of a huge sail. It was very enjoyable
The feel
good factor:
I was by myself and enjoyed
it immensely. The owners make a point to chat and speak to everyone.
A most excellent dinning experience. A well deserved 4 glass rating
