Service:
I have been here many times but have never written a review. The reason being that Au Bon was just a place to go for a coffee and cake. However over the last 12 months the owners have spent a lot of money refurbishing with very classy signage, decor, liquor license and a very extensive menu. It was now time to give a review. The service was professional and always friendly, and the owner often went out of her way to greet people personally and chat with everyone. The the Swiss accent is always charming

Presentation:
For a small Cafe restaurant presentation was always good. Portions were always more than adequate. The menu itself was a la cart with a good helping of traditional Swiss meals. (you have to try the Veal Zurichoise with a mushroom / white wine sauce). They also have a Swiss pastry chief so all I can say is if you have a sweet tooth and want to sample some excellent deserts, do not walk by Au Bon. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner are all catered for. Dining on the broadwalk is excellent.

Wine List:
Not a large selection, but more than adequate. Bubbly seems to be the drink of choice at the Au Bon.

Value for Money:
The average cost of a main course was about $25.00 which is about average for this area of the Gold Coast. Because this is the only Swiss restaurant I know of and the food is excellent I would say it is good value.

Ambiance
Since the make over and the fact there is outside dinning, combined with a small intimate environment, I have to give it the thumbs up. Not too mention you are only a 4 min walk to the beach. The Au Bon is small and intimate, and this is the beauty of it.

The feel good factor:
I have been here many times (and no I do not accept freebies, very unprofessional) the Au Bon has changed a lot. It is no longer a cake and coffee shop. It is a restaurant with its own flavor and ambiance. A place where you can kick back and enjoy an afternoon. I am going to award it a 4 glass rating.

Highly recommended
